Pre-Cruise Checklist – 11 Things to Do the Week Before You Sail

If your cruise is 7 days away, this checklist keeps you from boarding stressed or missing paperwork.

  1. Contact your travel advisor, make sure your reservation has been paid in full.

  4. Pack Early –
    • Check the forecast for every port.
    • Add one “Save Me” Item, a light rain jacket or poncho
  5. Finish Online Check-In
    • Put your passport or documents where you will grab them on the way out.
    • Print boarding pass and luggage tags as backup.
  6. Get the house ready
    • Hold mail
    • Line up pet care
    • Water plants
    • Set the thermostat and come home to a clean bed
  7. Money
    • Grab some cash for tips and transit
    • Tell your bank so your card is not blocked
  8. Lock in Port Plans
    • Excursions, timed entry tickets, anything that sells out
  9. Reserve Onboard Must Haves
    • Specialty dining
    • Shows
    • Spa and Celebration Extras for birthday and anniversaries
  10. Cruise Community
    • Check out what group or community might be onboard.
  11. Plan Transportation
    • Contact your travel advisor to arrange transportation to and from the terminal.
  12. Download the Cruise Line App and set up messaging
  13. Refill Prescriptions and stock basics like motion sickness and pain relief.
  14. Sleep
    • Travel day hits harder than you think.  Be sure to get plenty of rest the day before you leave.
